Dr. Brittany Capps, former academic and Writing Center Assistant Director at the University of South Carolina

User Experience Research, or UX Research, is used in various industries to understand how clients interact with a company or its services so you can continually enhance their experience. In this webinar, Dr. Capps will introduce the main tenants of UX Research and the similarities and differences between UX Research and standard assessment. She will then discuss a generative study she conducted alongside the annual assessment at USC’s Writing Center. Finally, she’ll review how incorporating UX research into Writing Centers can not only help align a WC’s values to its practices, but also provide a crucial opportunity for WC tutors and administrators in the current academic job market.
