“Pushing the Center from Start to Future” Sarah Esberger (EHS) with Elena Newburry (CMS) and Kathryn Webber (CMS)
Sarah Esberger started as a writing tutor while getting her M.A. at MTSU. Since then, she has been an advocate for writing centers in secondary schools. In 2014, she co-founded the Central Magnet Writing Lab with Dr. Lando Carter and continued as its director for eight years. In this presentation, she will share strategies for pushing the center past initial hesitation, difficulties, and expectations. She will also be joined by two current Central Magnet tutors, Elena Newburry and Kathryn Webber, who have continued pushing the important work of the Central Magnet Writing Lab under a new director.
