On Friday, March 27, over 60 staffers and directors from nine colleges and universities gathered for workshops and research presentations at the SWCA-KY statewide. Our conversations explored connections between writing center work and creativity, collaboration, and community. Our keynote speakers included poet Carrie Green, visual artist Lori Larusso, and hip hop artist/activist Hendrick Floyd. Via their performances and reflections on their own collaborative projects, staffers and directors alike were able to make key connections between the fine arts and our shared work in writing centers.
A huge thanks to Judith Gatton Prats (Director, Robert M. Hemenway Writing Center/University of KY) for hosting this excellent event.
